Why are the plans changing?
Over the years, the nature of website support has changed significantly. Modern websites require ongoing security monitoring, software and server maintenance, backups, SSL management, software integrations, CMS support, training, and regular content updates. Many of our legacy hosting plans have not changed in nearly a decade. Beginning in August 2025, all new clients were transitioned to our Website Hosting and Support Standard structure as our standard support model. We intentionally delayed similar changes for long time legacy clients because we wanted to preserve existing pricing for as long as reasonably possible. Our updated structure allows clients to choose the level of support that best fits their needs while allowing us to continue providing responsive, local, relationship based service.
What's included in Website Hosting and Support Lite?
Website Hosting and Support Lite is designed for clients who primarily need reliable website infrastructure and prefer self managed content updates.

This plan includes:
• Managed hosting
• SSL certificate
• Website backups
• Security and software updates
• Phone and email support

Clients on Website Hosting and Support Lite can make their own content updates using our drag and drop website editor, or request updates from our team as needed. Additional update requests are billed separately at our standard labor rate in 30 minute increments.
What's included in Website Hosting and Support Standard?
Website Hosting and Support Standard is designed for clients who want ongoing help keeping their website current.

This plan includes everything in Website Hosting and Support Lite, plus:
• Approximately 15 minutes per month of content updates performed by our team
• 15 minute billing increments for additional work

This plan is intended to reduce the need for routine service charges for smaller website updates. It also reduces the cost for routine updates by reducing the billing increment. Unused update time does not accrue month to month.
What are self managed content updates?
Many of our clients choose to make website updates themselves using our drag and drop website editor. The editor is designed to be user friendly and straightforward, allowing staff to update text, replace images, post announcements, and make routine content changes without needing technical experience. Most clients find there is only a small learning curve to become familiar with the features they use regularly.

For clients who prefer a more hands on approach, CMS training sessions are included with both Website Hosting and Support plans. Of course, if you would rather have us handle updates for you, we are always happy to help.
Can I still call for help?
Absolutely. Trolley Web is based in Trolley Square in Wilmington, Delaware. Our staff is local, reachable during business hours, and all work is handled in house.

When you contact us, you'll speak with a real person who is familiar with your website and available to help with technical questions, billing concerns, CMS guidance, or future improvements. We believe responsive, relationship based support is more important than ever.
What counts as a content update?
Content updates generally include:
• Updating text
• Replacing images
• Posting announcements
• Adjusting existing content
• Small formatting or layout adjustments within existing page structures

Content updates do not include:
• Redesigning pages
• Building new page layouts
• New functionality or integrations
• Extensive troubleshooting
• Copywriting or strategy work
• Major restructuring of content

Additional work beyond smaller content updates will always be estimated and approved before work begins.
What happens if I already paid annually?
Beginning July 31, 2026, clients will transition to monthly billing.

If you have already prepaid annual hosting:
• The unused portion of your existing term will be prorated
• The remaining balance will be applied as account credit
• Future monthly invoices will automatically draw from that credit balance until exhausted

No prepaid value will be lost during the transition.

Discount: Clients may also choose annual prepayment on the new plans and save the equivalent of two months each year.
How does billing work for additional updates?
Our current labor rate is $125 per hour.

Website Hosting and Support Lite clients are billed in 30 minute increments for additional work.

Website Hosting and Support Standard clients are billed in 15 minute increments for additional work beyond their included monthly content updates.

Before beginning any larger billable work, we will always provide an estimate and confirm approval.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes. You may move between Website Hosting and Support plans at any time as your needs change.
